The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve
The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is a must see visit during your stay in Santa Elena. It will astound visitors with its beauty, bounty and great amount biodiversity. Wind-sculpted elfin woodlands give way to rainforests where tall trees, covered with orchids,
bromeliads, ferns, vines, and mosses. All of which are green and rich with life.

We enjoyed the walk through this moist, lush biologically rich environment that is well-preserved. Everywhere you look there was something to see and one must go just one to experience this part of our unique planet. We stay at Mar Inn, a locally owned B & B about 5 minutes walk up the ‘hill’ (you will know what I mean when you visit) from downtown Santa Elena. The owner here is Anthony and his is very accommodating to assist you with tours and recommendations. Each morning you will have a fresh breakfast cooked with local ingredients. You must try the coffee.
