Wilmington-The Port City

Living in the charming southern city. I thought is was time to give a little credit to the eighth largest city of the Tar Heel State, Wilmington….   Also, known as the Port City.  Checking out the downtown and its newly finished Riverwalk.

You can enjoy a walk or head across the Cape Fear to tour the Word War II era battleship USS North Carolina, a memorial and museum that is open for tours.

Wilmington with its southern historical charm from its downtown to Arlie Gardens to historical mansions. The city has lots to offer both locals and visits. Not to mention a local film studio where several TV shows and movies have been filmed over the years in the the area.

The popularity of the city continues because of its moderate, four-season climate, historic preservation district, and annual events such as the Azalea Festival and Riverfest. Check out this southern city in your next journey south.
